With its long, sweeping strand and extensive sand dunes, Ventry is an ideal holiday spot. The beach is safe for bathing and there are ponies for hire. There is a large pub where, on fine days, as many customers are sitting outside admiring the view as are inside. Just beyond the lane down to the strand is a delightful restaurant for light meals. The surround countryside is prefect for the rambler. From the start of the strand in Ventry one can walk at the water's edge along the sand and across the river, past the graveyard, and on to Caheratrant.
